People are sometimes surprised when they hear a former plumber is now running AI-powered marketing for home-service companies. To me, it’s the most natural move in the world.
I learned how businesses actually win by working in homes
I grew up in Battle Ground, Washington, fly fishing and hunting all over Clark County. When COVID hit, I graduated high school a year early and went into the trades as a plumber. I spent my days in people’s homes, fixing real problems for real people.
What I noticed over and over was simple: there were great companies — honest, skilled, dependable — that were almost impossible to find online. The work was excellent. The visibility was not. The best operator in town would lose the job to whoever showed up first in search.
So I learned marketing the same way I learned plumbing — by doing the work
I didn’t come to marketing through a classroom. I came to it through the same instinct that made me good in the trades: figure out what’s actually broken, fix the root cause, and don’t stop until it works. I started studying how local customers search, how trust gets built before the first call, and why some companies get found while better ones stay invisible.
Along the way I founded Briskr Solutions, a land-investing company, where I learned to build networks and solve problems for people on the other side of a deal. The arena changed. The approach didn’t: use your skills to solve real problems and create win-win outcomes.
Today I build AI-powered marketing systems for home-service pros
Now I’m an AI Builder with Local Service Spotlight, and I run the marketing for Rare Breed Plumbing, Heating, and Air — a company with a 4.9-star reputation across nearly a thousand reviews. My job is to help home-service companies get found by the customers who need them, and to build trust before the phone ever rings.
AI is what makes that possible at the speed local businesses need. Instead of guessing, I can audit a business end to end, build a library of genuinely helpful content, and track the local-search signals that bring in calls — all faster and more thoroughly than was ever possible before.
The belief underneath all of it
The best marketing isn’t loud. It’s useful. If you’re a home-service owner who does great work but feels invisible online, that’s a fixable problem — and it’s exactly the kind of problem I like to solve.
